Bloomfields gained planning permission for a modern further education college campus in Medway Road, Gillingham. Three new modern buildings linked by two huge glass pavilions replace two outdated campus in Horsted and City Way.

A renewal of planning permission enabled the continued siting of the Sure Start Children's Centre at All Faiths Community School in Gun Lane. The Centre, which opened in 2008, is a key facility for families with young children in the local community.  A further three year permission has allowed the centre to continue to operate while plans were underway to construct new facilities on site. Approval was subsequently given in February 2011 to construct the proposed new facilities.
